January 17, 2012 at 2:36 AM | Post Permalink | 31,624 notes ![]() Tribute to my mother Think back, to when you were a child, those thoughts and memories, almost remembering a story your being told, but its just out of reach. Still it comes alive, dancing in your head. Now imagine, a man and a woman, just friends nothing more, taking the mans 4 year old daughter to Dave n busters. The man and woman play games with the daughter winning her tokens, well in the mans case playing the race games, but the woman helping the daughter win. Now the daughter picks out her prizes small things mostly since her father wasted most of the tokens on racing games. They all walk out happy, the daughter dancing around her father. But just as her father lifts her up to put her in her car seat she throws a fit. Instead of getting mad the woman asks the girl what can we do to make you get in the car? The daughter exclaims that she refuses to get in tell her father purposes. So he gets down on one knee and with his daughters plastic ring prize asks the fair lady to be his wife. This is my almost memory A silly tale I know, but the point of it is that several years later they got married and she is now my mother. Some how I knew even then that she would make the most amazing mother anyone could ever ask for. She has a big heart loving all, she never tells a lie, EVER! And in my opinion the most entertaining and annoying quality is she’s forgetful, and im talking bad. The love a mother has for her daughter is unparalleled by all, but the love my mother had for me before I was even close to becoming her child was amazing. I remember when I was young and I got the chicken pox. She is the one who came to my house and took care of me. It wasn’t to be near my father or for any selfish reason, see I lived with my grandparents and my father was married to her best friend. She didn’t get paid she just did it becase she grew to love me. Shes like that for most people. In high school she convinced my dad to let my best friend of the time live with us. If she saw someone in need she would go help. I know I don’t have the best examples but when you see a woman fight tooth and nail with a social worker for children that arnt even her own you never forget the love of that woman. Now my mother doesn’t lie, ever! And im not kidding I spent years trying to prove to my mother that everyone lies, by some how catching her in a lie. However, this never worked. If it had trust me I would tell this amazing story of proving my mother wrong. But even though I never caught her in a lie, I have watched her over the years. And I must say she’s ingenious. During Christmas me and my siblings like to play a game. Our mother lets us ask as many questions as we wanted about our present. Like how big, how heavy, breakable. We can even ask hey mom is it so and so movie or game I’ve been wanting. She always answers in such a way that its not a lie but she’s not really giving us an answer. I think its brilliant. Another example is I have seen my mother on several occasions have the opportunity to make off with something extra because people wernt paying attention to what they were doing but she always stops and fixes it. Give her to much change shell let you know. Or something that made her so happy was constantly happening at the super market people would mistake me for her little sister. They would say something like “oh its so nice you take your little sister out with you.” she loved it, I mean who wouldn’t it made her feel young. But she would always correct them. Eventually I got annoyed with people confusing me for her sister that when it would happen I would yell “she’s my mom!!!” Now though I think this woman is the most amazing mother in the world, and id like to think my self an expert since I’ve had 4, she does have one extremely funny but Annoying down side. My mothers forgetful. I not talking forget were the keys are Once in a while. My mother can NEVER remember where they are, she is also always loosing her phone and wallet. In fact every time I forget were my phone is or if I leave it at home by accident I start giggling and when I get it I call my mom and tell her I’m turning into her. The most annoying part is at my high school 2 Wednesdays a month was half day. So I got out of school an hour and a half earlier then normal. Every time it was a half day id tell my mom in the morning don’t forget to pick me up early. Well it never failed every half day id be the only kid still sitting at the back of the high school waiting to be picked up. Some times id get a hold of a cell phone to call and remind her but she ALWAYS forgot. She would always make it up with something special to do just the 2 of us even if it was temporarily dieing our hair or her just reading to me. To this day she is always forgetting her keys and cell phone and wallet, however, luckily though my old high school doesn’t do short days any more so my siblings are safe! I am forever grateful to this woman who changed my life forever, she has taught me so much and helped make me the person I am today. I pay tribute to her because of her loving, honest, and forgetful ways. And for teaching me all the things I could ever need to know. I know no matter what happens in the future my mother will ALWAYS be their for me. And yeah the story I told at the beginning is a fun way to tell everyone that that’s the only purposal my mom got from my father, but to me that story, originally told to me by my mother, shows that she was being a great woman long before she had any responsibility to me. I some how knew this woman would be a great mom when I was little and her actions haven’t changed over the last 18 years. I am so proud that she is my mother and I wouldn’t change a thing!
